Who could take Semaglutide or Tirzepatide?
Anyone that does not fall into the ineligible category below is eligible to take Semaglutide or Tirzepatide at NouveauYou. The injections are not meant to be a stand-alone treatments and will need to be used in conjunction with physical activity, especially strength training, and a healthy, balanced diet. We will discuss health history and medical history before determining eligibility.
Who is not eligible for Semaglutide or Tirzepatide at NouveauYou?
- Anyone <18 years old
- Pregnant or breastfeeding
- Anyone with type 1 or type 2 Diabetes (pre-diabetes is acceptable)
- History of multiple endocrine neoplasia syndrome type 2
- History of pancreatitis or renal problems
- Personal or family history of medullary thyroid cancer
What is the difference between Semaglutide and Tirzepatide?
What are the possible side effects?
Both medications have similar side effects and may vary from person to person, but the most common include:
- GI symptoms- nausea, constipation, diarrhea, vomiting, heartburn/reflex
- Headache and fatigue
- More serious side effects could occur and will be discussed
How much weight will I lose?
This is dependent on your body and how much work you are willing to put in along with the injections. While the medication will assist you to your goal, if you are not eating healthier and being physically active, your results may be less than anticipated.
Will I gain my weight back after discontinuing the medication?
